Ni vizuri kujua

Expect to pay between $179 and $289 USD per person depending on the operator, group size, and what is bundled in. For reference: Typical PDC-departure price ~$209 (vivalatravelista); GetYourGuide whale shark tour $179-249; premium small-group to $289 + park fee.

Plan for 8 hours. Times vary slightly by operator and pickup location, and hotel pickup adds transfer time at each end.

This is a seasonal experience: May 15 - Sep 17 (peak Jun-Aug). Outside that window operators either do not run it or substitute a different itinerary, so check dates before you book flights around it.

It leans adventurous — expect to get wet, muddy, or your heart rate up. Reasonable fitness is enough; no special skills required.

Bring swimwear, a towel, and reef-safe biodegradable sunscreen — masks, fins and vests are included on nearly every tour.

Visibility drops after storms, so operators reschedule rather than run a bad trip; a rain shower alone does not cancel.

This is one of the highest-demand experiences in the area — in high season (December–April and July–August) the good operators sell out days ahead, so book as soon as your dates are fixed.

Many operators include round-trip transport from Playa del Carmen hotels or a central meeting point on 5th Avenue; others charge a small supplement or are self-drive. We confirm pickup details with your booking request before you pay anything.
